Abstract

This scientific thesis examines the psychological characteristics of stress resistance in adolescents with a melancholic temperament, focusing on their emotional state, social adaptation, and psychological defense mechanisms. Adolescence is considered one of the most complex stages of human development, characterized by rapid psychological changes, heightened emotional sensitivity, and increasing social pressure. Adolescents with a melancholic temperament are distinguished by strong emotional responsiveness, internal anxiety, sensitivity, and self-criticism. Therefore, they tend to be more vulnerable to stressful situations compared to representatives of other temperament types. The study analyzes the influence of individual psychological factors, family environment, educational processes, peer relationships, and motivational aspects on stress resistance. In addition, the paper discusses psychological support methods, preventive strategies, and corrective approaches aimed at strengthening emotional stability and adaptive coping skills among melancholic adolescents. The research emphasizes the importance of creating a supportive social and educational environment to ensure adolescents’ psychological well-being and healthy personality development.
