This article examines the formation and historical development stages of paleoecology, as well as its significance in the modern era. The research analyzes the interrelation of the discipline with archaeology, geology, and biology, its methodological approaches in reconstructing ancient natural environments, and its importance in scientific investigations. In addition, the practical relevance of paleoecological studies—such as rational use of natural resources, understanding environmental challenges, and providing a scientific basis for sustainable development in the future—is highlighted. The article considers both the theoretical and practical aspects of paleoecology and substantiates the relevance of this field of study.
