Formation Of Critical Thinking In Native Language Lessons

Abstract

This article covers the theoretical and practical foundations of developing students' critical thinking competence in native language lessons in general secondary schools. The content and essence of critical thinking, its role in the modern education system, and the possibilities of native language science in forming this competence are scientifically analyzed. Also, ways to develop independent thinking, reasoning, drawing conclusions, and a creative approach in students through the use of problem-based learning, interactive methods, text analysis, discussion, project method, reflection, and assessment mechanisms are shown. The results of the study confirm that organizing native language lessons based on a competency-based approach effectively develops students' critical thinking skills.
